This Unit Looks Very Much Like, and Could Replace, the Common Starter Used on Older John Deere Equipment (OEM No. 1998364, etc. - Lester No. 6539 - PIC No. 140-875). This Unit Has a Special Threaded Ground Hole on the Front Housing. This is a Wet Clutch Starter Which is Very Similar to the Dry Clutch 6601 (OEM No. 10479628). John Deere is Selling Their TY24305 to Replace the Other OEM Numbers Listed Here.
