Note:Info From Mitsubishi 11/2007. The tag was unreadable as 31100-65xxx. | This is a "M1T" Case Version of the 17783 ("M0T"). Even Though the Sizes Vary Slightly, the Lester Number Will Remain the Same Unless it is Shown to Be a Problem. | This is a Mitsubishi PMGR Starter for the 1999-On Suzuki Grand Vitara and XL-7 With the 2.5L or 2.7L Engine. This Unit Looks Somewhat Like the Earlier Used 17266, But in a Smaller Case, and the Rotation of the DE Frame is Slightly Different. The 17783 Has the 2 Mounting Holes at 9:00 and 4:00, Rather Than 8:00 and 3:00 on the Earlier Units. There is a Unique Heat Shield Mounted on the Front of the Solenoid Where it Meets the DE Housing. The 17838 Used on the Chevrolet Tracker With the Same Engine Looks to Be Identical to the 17783 Except the 17838 Uses a Battery Terminal Extension Which Allows for the Battery Cable to Be Mounted on the Top of the Solenoid. If This Extension Can Be Transferred Between Units, Then the 17783 and 17838 Should Interchange.
