Note:This is a Delco AD230 Series Alternator Which Looks Like the CS130D 8206-5, Except the Plug on This Unit is at 3:00. The 8247 is the Same Unit, in the 105A Version. However it Was Discovered By Transpo That There is a Different PCM in Some of the Trucks Using This Alternator - Here is What They Say. "In working with the ASVR O.E. chip we discovered that there was a difference in lamp reaction time on the ASVR chip versus our thick film ASIC part. That is that the lamp when commanded to come on or extinguish due to voltage conditions will have a 1.5 second delay before reacting. That is different from any aftermarket ASIC type part. This also as we found out eventually solves an intermittent lamp problem that was reported from the field sporactically on the C1500 truck units. It seems the PCM in these trucks must see that delay time in the lamp driver section of the circuit or the regulator will not control the alternator voltage properly. Also this delay allows the newer version ASVR regulators to work in the CS130D type applications that used regulators like the (9705). Up Until Now Lester Has Not Been Made Aware of Any Issues With Those Who Consolidate the 8238 (102A) and 8247 (105A), and Fit Both With the D200 Type Regulator.
